Biblical Prophecy

Throughout the Old Testament, the greatest prediction concerns the coming and work of the Messiah, and prophecy was largely used to perpetuate faith in the Messiah and prepare the world for his arrival. Revelation is an act of revealing or making known divine truth. God's disclosure of Himself and His will to His people.

Some Things I Never Thought I Would See

By Jan Markell

I’m at it again—mulling over the insanity of our day, even though such absurdities were predicted for the last days. I say a dozen times a day, “I never thought I would see the day.” Be honest. You do, too!

Here’s my current list:

I never thought I would see the day:

When churches would see our mind-numbing headlines and stories and suggest that there are perhaps a hundred or a thousand years before Jesus returns! They say we’ve always had perilous times. Nothing is new.

I never thought I would see the day:

The World Economic Forum would meet the week it was minus 40 degrees in my hometown and obsess over global warming and electric vehicles, since they don’t function well right now in Minneapolis. And all of us are cheering for global warming.

I never thought I would see the day:

When the champion of the hurting around the world, the Red Cross, would deny care and medication to Israeli hostages and instead scold the hostages for Gaza’s destruction.

I never thought I would see the day:

When the International Court of Justice would declare Israel guilty of genocide when it was Israel who experienced a genocidal attack. Imagine, portions of the free world siding with barbarians rather than a democratic ally. Did someone say “upside down world?”

I never thought I would see the day:

All of the leaders of sanctuary cities and states would be screaming bloody murder to keep illegals out of their sanctuary cities and states.

I never thought I would see the day:

When a U.S. Secretary of State would tell another country—Israel—they cannot win a war. They cannot defeat terrorists who perpetrated genocide on them.

I never thought I would see the day:

I would watch entire church denominations side with those who perpetrated the worst slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust. What Bible are they reading? They believe Jesus was a Palestinian. Really?

I never thought I would see the day:

The nation of Nigeria, with its Christian population nearly decimated by Muslims, not be put on Washington’s 2024 persecution watch list!

I never thought I would see the day:

When Democrats admit that Hamas or the Taliban or al-Qaida may be crossing our southern border and then brag about our strong national security! Reprobate minds see upside down.

I never thought I would see the day:

When the world would favor elements of society who cry “Death to Israel” and “Death to America” and glorify these thugs. When “Israel Derangement Syndrome” would overtake entire nations, and when universities would favor them, even as Jews hide in closets and secret rooms.

I never thought I would see the day:

When at the most significant time in history, believers would talk about “rapture fatigue” and “end-time burn-out” because they were tired of watching and waiting for Christ’s return. It’s just taking too long.

I never thought I would see the day:

When the tragedy of Lahaina, Maui—with all of its mystery and likely conspiracy—would so quickly be forgotten and the people so pathetically abandoned.

And yet people still trust the government!

I never thought I would see the day:

When lockdowns would become a part of normal society! First it was Covid lockdowns. Now I am learning about climate lockdowns coming. I guess the mantra is, “You will go nowhere and be happy!”

I never thought I would see the day:

That the subject of Israel—who is the primary subject of the Bible—would be the issue causing enormous church splits since October 7. Denominations don’t want to acknowledge that Jews wrote our Bible or play a prominent role today. I guess theology matters to some, and their theology erases the nation of Israel!

I could go on for endless pages with further examples, sadly. The Bible is blunt that the last days would be perilous and filled with unruly and selfish people. It says society would be “given over” (Romans 1). We just didn’t think it would be this bad.

But God placed you and me in it for such a time as this! We are here on assignment and not by accident. We can be the salt and light needed for our times! The followers of Jesus Christ are to shine no matter what the circumstances and no matter how bad it gets.

Hang on a little longer. And it is the darkest before the dawn—the dawn being the glorious Rapture of the church when we leave this wicked planet behind! Only in Eternity will we cease being shocked by the world and by an upside-down society. Only then will everything make sense. Finally, I will be able to stop saying, “I never thought I would see the day.”

The Day That Changed the World

By Jan Markell

The world has been in an uncontrollable rage since October 7, 2023. We are witnessing global Israel Derangement Syndrome and renewed anti-Semitism more brutal than the 1930s. And towards whom is the rage directed? Towards those who were invaded, slaughtered and kept as hostages.

Imagine worldwide hatred against innocent victims and global sympathy for barbarians because Israel supposedly stole land. So, now it is occupied land—the provocation for the deadly pogrom. God’s land is not occupied territory. Jesus did not live in occupied territory. God owns it (Leviticus 25). He permanently gifted it to the Jews (Genesis 15).

The World Calls Evil Good!

Following the attack, the logic said that sympathy would eventually shift towards those who suffered the unspeakable blow, since many victims were women, children, and the elderly. Apparently not. The world stage featured, over several weeks, millions of people in global demonstrations on behalf of the terrorists—Hamas!

The End is in Sight

The End is in Sight

“And God said unto Noah, the end of all flesh is come before me.” Genesis 6:13

By Mike Wingfield

As we stand at this pivotal point in human history, those of us who study the prophetic Scriptures can clearly see the end of this age approaching! While we do not know exactly how much more time will elapse, we do know what the last seven years will look like.

During the days of the prophet Isaiah, at a time of great spiritual apostasy in Israel, God continually spoke through this great prophet to remind the children of Israel that He is the One and only true God, and there are no others. God evidence of this truth when He said to Israel, “Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is none else: I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure” (Isaiah 46:9-10). This statement proves that He knows and orchestrates all events from the beginning to the end. Nothing surprises Him. All the efforts of Satan and his demons never catch the Lord off guard. Nothing that individuals and nations do can thwart His eternal purposes. Not one single event occurs outside of His all-inclusive will and eternal plan of the ages.

Global Rejection of God

photo courtesy of Israel Today Magazine

As we watch events unfold around the world at this hour, we need to keep our eyes on Psalm 2. This psalm is a prophetic commentary on what is happening now.

Verse one– “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?” The word “rage” speaks of an open defiance and disorderly conduct. Our world is erupting into disruptive chaos that glorifies and clamors for evil. Evil brings death and destruction. It is no wonder that God says, “the people imagine a vain thing.” These people are asking for their own demise. The people who glorify Hamas are in love with evil. They will get what they want. The Islamic terrorists will march across the globe during the Tribulation Period, killing, raping, and pillaging as they go. I am convinced that the four riders of the horses in Revelation 6:1-8 represent the global jihad of the Antichrist at the beginning of the Tribulation Period. The events that happened in Israel on October 7th are a little window into global events that will transpire around the world every day for seven very long years!

Verse 2– “The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed.” It is apparent that the United Nations and all the nations around the globe are siding with Islam. They are chanting for the destruction of Israel and the Jews. They would rather have Hamas than Israel. They are against the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. They are against God’s “anointed” [the word here is messiah]. They are against Jesus. Therefore, they hate Jews and Christians. This will be the trademark of the Antichrist and his global kingdom. They will kill believers in Jesus by beheading them (Revelation 20:4). The antichrist will blaspheme the name of the God of the Bible (Daniel 11:36; Revelation 13:6).

Verse 3– “Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.” The references to “band” and “cords” point to the binding commandments of God. These evil people want to be set free from the law of God. They want total freedom to express their depravity. God says we are to not have any other gods before Him (Exodus 20:3-5). The crowds around the world are chanting, “Allah is greater.” Allah is not the God of the Bible. They are calling for the worship of another god. It is not an accident that Hamas attacked Israel on the Sabbath day (Saturday). God demanded Israel to keep the sabbath day as a holy day (Exodus 20:3). When Hamas attacked Israel, they rebelled against all of God’s last six commandments in Exodus 20:12-17. Read them and think about this. Evil people are glorifying this!

Notice God’s response to these rebels. First, He will laugh at them (verse 4). How stupid for man to think He can oppose God and His commandments. Second, He will “speak to them in his wrath and vex [terrify] them” (verse 5). They want terror. He will give them terror! Terror will rule over the nations for seven years! Third, God will set His Son, the Jewish Messiah, upon his “holy hill of Zion” (verse 6). Hamas used the Jewish peoples’ visits to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem as an excuse to invade Israel. Islam claims that the Temple Mount belongs to them and not to the Jews. They claim that that Jews have no right to this holy mountain and that it is an Islamic holy site. God will answer by placing His Son on the throne of David on the Temple Mount for 1,000 years (see photo). Jesus will rule over all the nations in His glorious kingdom (verses 7-9). Fourth, God demands that all the kings and judges of the nations serve and honor Him (verse 11). He warns them that their rebellion against Him are stoking the fires of His holy wrath (verse 12).
